Another ~60% price increase for Game Pass. You get the idea on how the real price of Activision Blizzard merger is.
Years later and I finally found out that the opening music of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver is an actual song. Thank you, SiivaGunner!
🕹️Finished Campaign: Assassin’s Creed Rogue Remastered
🕹️Finished Campaign: Assassin’s Creed Rogue Remastered
With a rumored Black Flag remake, why not dive in some Assassin’s Creed? I’m a creature of habit, a gamer of culture.
But no, Rogue is not really underrated, contrary to what some Reddit post might suggest. Short campaign, small environment, economy is completely broken. Story, the selling point, is just fine, and while it’s nice to see Lisbon briefly featured (the earthquake one), there’s not very much to be remembered. Haytham Kenway has more protagonist energy than Shay in his own game!
But hey, at least you can go fishing! And have fun with some North Atlantic fishes! That’s something I assume.
The game suffers from the same issues as other AC games featuring America land. It’s just not that exciting exploring America at the 18th century, let alone doing parkour. Pretty sure you barely do any parkour in AC3.
Also Ubisoft changed the system for parkour at AC3 and well, I don’t like it. The good-old counter-attack combat system also leaves much to be desired.
The AC franchise had miserable reception during the 7th-8th gen transition, thus we have huge monolithic games like Valhalla. They have identity crisis problems. Yet, compared to Origins, Unity, Ezio trilogy and maybe Black Flag (which I’ll probably try out again), I’m more hesitant to praise Rogue.
A case (kind of) for Lin Shaohua

Yet to come across a single time when usage of 自己人 indicates anything positive. Not holding breath.

Chinese phone OEMs seem to have things one or two to teach Google, after all.
had the company been competing in search for the last decade — even if they weren’t as good as Google — they would likely at a minimum have a functional Siri!
Oh my god.
Now that iPhone Air is even thinner than an iPod touch, It might be a good idea using it as an iPod touch.
That title though! Feels very Kotaku-y. You know that’s a The Register article when you see it.

inessential: Tough Season in the Apple Fields
We had pretty good Mac UI, but Apple took the bad parts of it — the translucency and blurriness already there — and dialed it way up and called it content-centric. But it seems to me the opposite. Liquid Glass is Liquid-Glass-centric.

Currently reading: The Modern Family in Japan by Chizuko Ueno 📚
Actually no, not this particular book. I’m fascinated by the fact that Chizuko Ueno’s work has been so prominent in mainland China, almost everyone points to her in feminism discussions - Japanese, but more so Chinese.
“I remember being in the studio and thinking, ‘this is beautiful, the visuals are extraordinary’, They’ve come a long way since Mario 64, which is probably the last computer game I played.”

Even Nintendo is working on improving the eShop. The current situation of Mac App Store is miserable.
Thoughts: I relied on Telegram too much over the past few years. Chatting with friends, posting on my channels, engaging with public groups. Yet I failed to realize that Telegram is designed to be closed. Very closed. I might make a new account, but Telegram is now a sunk ship for me.
